TDO architecture + design studio was founded by Tom Lewith, Doug Hodgson and Owen Jones in 2010 with a one-off commission for Wallpaper* Magazine. We are now a studio of 9, designing and delivering buildings and collaborations at a variety of scales for private clients and developers.
We are interested in interesting projects, whatever the size or budget.
We met and trained together at The Bartlett school of Architecture and went on to deliver buildings for London based firms at a range of scales before coming together to found the practice.
In 2012 the studio moved to Southwark, where we renovated a disused railway arch to install a suspended timber workspace.
We help our clients establish what they want and what’s involved before embarking on the process. We pair that client focus with our interest in contextual, contemporary architecture to deliver unexpected and ambitious outcomes.
TDO buildings and collaborations have featured in London Design Festival, Clerkenwell Design Week, London Fashion Week, London Open House and a wide range of publications including Wallpaper*, Dezeen, Elle Decoration, Grand Designs Magazine, The Architects’ Journal, Archdaily, The Times and The Telegraph.
TDO have been invited critics and lecturers at various institutions and currently teach undergraduate architecture at Cambridge University.
The Architecture Foundation have included TDO in their 2016 book New Architects 3, described as the definitive survey of Britain’s best emerging architects. We also feature in the new Dezeen Hotlist, which uses online data to identify the architects, designers and brands setting the agenda in the design world.
